Greetings JCCS Community
Our weekly Chapel services has become a highlight for many students and teachers. Our students gather together as one body to sing praise and worship to our God while receiving a challenge every week from a local speaker.
Many of you may not be aware of this, but we welcome a local pastor and other community member to be our special guest each week and ask them to share a message about God that ties in directly to our theme for the year.
Last week, we welcomed Pastor Jeff Klingenberg to our gymnasium and he shared a message with the children in which God is our Rock, he will not be moved, and he is with us “NO MATTER WHAT!” I can still hear the kids loudly proclaiming this phrase as Jeff led them on.
This week, we welcomed Pastor Daryl DeKlerk. He brought along his Lego with him, which appeals to such a large range of ages including myself. He left the students with a great image of a sand pile that is eroded away by the storms and water. Eventually the house collapses. Yet, when the house stood on the rock, the storms and water do not move the rock. “The wise man built his house upon the rock.” Maybe as you are reading, you are singing the children’s song in your head too.
These chapels are times to unify our spiritual focus as a school and receive a message from God through many of his servants. If this is something that you are interested in attending, please contact myself (firstname.lastname@example.org). The chapel service focuses on the kids, but why not let this be a time for the whole school community to raise our collective voice to God, our Rock.
